They banned high jump because some student near Ottawa fell into a coma and died because of the bar.

I landed right on the pole and I was laughing my head off becasue I was so terrible.

*agrees with Katt (we go to the same school)* I was so mad when they banned it (and triple jump for some reason) because those were the only 2 I made it for.

i dont have to do it until high school (grades 10, 11, 12 alberta) with paretns consent too... lucky me.

omg @ below this year (i placed) so i was on the track team for high jump then it got canceled

My school used to hold High jump for Track & Field but years ago they stopeed holding it because someone missed the mat and broke their neck or coller bone or something. So no more high jump for me : (

I'm so good at High Jump and it's my favourite but a few days before T&F (as others have been saying beow) our school board canceled it because of some incident with an Ontarian dying from it.

It's banned at our school after the whole incident somewhere in eastern Ontario where the kid died.

Oh yeah, thats always the biggest event at my school. Were trained for weeks on that. We had our T&F 3 days a go.
