I agree with Forsythe , buy some acrylics (easy to work with and to clean up) and go for it. I left it far to late in life to start my painting .

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say yes, Paul, you can paint. While there are some things for you to learn as far as the technical end of things, it's not out of the realm of possibility. You already have an eye for color, shape and design, which would serve you immensely in getting started. If you learn how to work the tools, you could do it. You already have the most important talent required. Well done.
