chapter 1 the beginning/meeting the wolves I woke up the cold wind blowing outside. I quietly got up and went outside and saw snow everywhere. I must’ve snowed overnight, since it was December 18th. I looked over and saw a white adult wolf trying to crack the ice. He looked cold with the wind blowing his fur everywhere. I jumped down off the rock hill the cave was on. I walked across the frozen stream and went up to him. “Hey, you need some help?” I asked, as he looked over at me. “Oh, sure, thanks.” He said. “No problem,” I said, starting to jump up and down on the frozen water trying to break it. Suddenly, I heard the ice crack and quickly moved away as the ice broke and the water showed. We bent over and had a nice, refreshing, long drink. “Thanks for helping out.” He said to me. “It’s nothing” I said, finishing drinking. “I’m Ophyx” the wolf said. “I’m Moonlight” I said, looking over seeing Jessie and Tibtab jumping down the stone hill and joining me. “Hey Moonlight” they said. “Hey guys.” I said. “This is Ophyx” “Sup” said Ophyx. “The sky!” said Tibtab, joking around. “Oh Tibtab, stop being silly.” Said Jessie, rolling her eyes. “I can joke around if I want” said Tibtab. We all heard a growl and looked over to a forest and there revealed an adult black wolf, glaring at us. “Well, look what we have here, my assistant is disobeying me, maybe I should eat him along with these pups” He said in a mean voice, his stomach growling with him. “Master I told you many times to not eat pups!” Exclaimed Ophyx. “I don’t care, Ophyx! It’s winter! There’s no food and barely any water!” Yelled the wolf. I got scared and hid behind Ophyx. “You… You know this wolf?” I barely got out. “I’m his assistant; I help him find food and water.” He said, protecting us. “Why aren’t you feeding us to him then?” Jessie asked. “I don’t want him to eat poor, innocent little pups” he said. Then, out of nowhere, the black wolf started running at us, mouth opened and sharp teeth ready to chew.
