It was a dark and stormy night...
http://www.sjsu.edu/faculty/scott.rice/blfc2008.htm
"Toads of glory,
slugs of joy," sang
Groin the dwarf as he
trotted jovially down
the path before a great
dragon ate him because
the author knew that
this story was a train
wreck after he typed
the first few words.

The Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest! What fun! If only I could sink down to such a wonderful level of cheesy awfulness,... alas.

blfc2008.htm The winners of the 2008 Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest have been announced. (The original author of "It was a dark and stormy night...") This is the winner in the Fantasy Fiction category - and while it's not mine - or even our favorite alligator's, it sounds like something he'd write. Besides, how can you resist a phrase like "Toads of glory, slugs of joy"?
