Your absolutely right, personality in a person is what matters. But i'll be honest, I think it's hard to really fall in love with someone your not phsysically as well as mentally in love with. Just an opinion.

-> comfortable with. There's a reason I only wear jeans, capris, knee-length shorts, t-shirts, turtlenecks and hoodies- they aren't as revealing.

I'd have to agree with N@t@$h@ and Kat. Pleanty of people I know (Including girls years older than me) Feel pressured like this. Heck, even girls in MY grade feel this way! Middle Schoolers! That's how far this insecurity goes. Girls my age are wearing more makeup than can possibly be healthy, and wearing clothes so exposing that it's a miracle they don't get in trouble for violating the dress code! And it's all jsut to impress boys and look good for others. As a girl who is... well, more developed, especially for her age (it runs in my family) I've been stared at by more boys than I feel ->

You guys can't be so pissed off by 'all' the males. Since some females go for some handsome hunky dude instead of personality.

and perverted means something that goes against nature in this case, so it would not be perverted anyway
August 3rd
yeah i knw a guy like that...i agree 100%

and people, most women are judged on haircut, pretty face, and a good smile. NOT being short and underweight and big breasted. You people who are so against boys because of this have obviously never actually gotten to know a REAL boy, all the boys you ever met were probably FAKE.

bob, not all boys are perverts either

rhett, naureen meant that she posed naked in fromt of a mirror for this

I think that katfireblade, emilee, N@t@$h@, and rhett have very good points. My quote here is, It shouldn't matter if your curvy or skinny, ugly or pretty, big breasts or small breasts, but it should be the love, compaddion, caring, beauty, and kindness on the inside.

when i look at a guy,i focus on his hair...if he doesnt have nice hair but is really nice i tell him to get a good haircut and then were good...

that's what they should teach in school. not math, how the male brain works.

I hate shallow guys likfe that. Us girls shouldn't be jugded by what we have on the inside, you could be beautiful and mean, or ugly and kind.

<< And, guys might be visual, but they CAN be very demanding. Not every man demands the porn star figure, but women feel pressured to keep up. Most women I speak to would never wear high heels again, trash their makeup, stop yanking out their eyebrows, stop shaving (men don't, why must we?), and eat more, if only the felt secure their men weren't there just for the scenery. They feel the choice is between torturing themselves or being alone forever. Blaming women for that is like blaming a mugging victim for giving away his wallet because a gun was stuck to his head.
April 18th
<< that a woman might be offended by the double standard. Do guys take visual cues? YES. I'm okay with that, as long as they check out my face and the person that lays behind it after they check out my boobs. I have no room to complain, chances are I was checking out their muscles, their crotch, their hands, or their butt myself. The problem ISN'T (in my opinion) that people judge on looks first, but that for many, that's where it ends. And, yes, it can be a problem for BOTH sexes, but at the same time, you can't say "well you did it, so therefore I can too." We aren't five anymore.
April 18th
<< So why is it the criteria for a woman is to be short (something we have no control over), habitually underweight and bird-boned to boot (and yes, we ARE required to be underweight to be considered "beautiful" or just "taking care of ourselves"), wearing makeup, and about a half dozen other rules (nothing in your pockets to make them bulge, pedicured toenails, shaved legs and pits, plucked eyebrows, etc, etc). And then you come on, totally ignorant of what women are expected to go through to meet your standards of "attractive," stand up for guys who judge on looks alone, and get offended >>

Second, to Tristaph--bull hockey. I am amazonian in build, broad shoulders, tall, and about as curvy as they come. Even when you can see rib I am still not tiny, nor will I ever be. I don't wear makeup because I am allergic to most of it, and I don't wear heels because I refuse to kill myself just to look hot. And I HAVE been passed over, not just by shallow men, but for promotions, respect, and more. Women are EXPECTED to look a certain way, and if you buck that, you pay consequences. And the requirements are INSANE. If a guy has a nice haircut and smells nice, he has met expectations. >>

Okay, two things. First to Laura--don't mistake those who scream loudest for the voice of an entire gender. Speaking as a girl with large knockers, I cant tell you the number of times I have been given a pass. Reason cited? "More than a mouthful is too much." Or, roughly translated, "honey, your hooters have too much mass." Men like all sorts of body types--like woman, they aren't just attracted to whatever the media portrays as beauty. And, in fact, many men I've spoken to say that women are FAR too hard on themselves, and what attracts them most is just simple self confidence.
April 18th
Yeah I agree with Emiliee girls chooze to do all of those things.
April 17th
Like all stereotypes, there is always an element of twisted truth and logic in what is being presented. But none of the comments below add in anyway to a constructive solution. And the whole premise of this comic, although extremely well done, does little (sorry, Laura) to advance our thinking or dialogue. The truth is, the truth doesn't lie in the extremes, but in the layers of grey. Being provacatvie, and choosing sides, doesn't help anyone.
April 17th
I completely agree. And I love how you put "Some" Bolded, to point out that it's not everyone. But the shallower men wouldn't date someone with an unatractive face, and huge breasts. Also, girls CHOOZE to wear clothes that flatter their selves, we CHOOZE to wear makeup, we CHOOZE to show our breasts, it's a choice, but then again, even in the baggiest clothes a women's breasts will show. I don't know, this is a debate which I think will never be answered.

Yup. And there are women who say a guy looks good only when he is buff with wash board abs. And agreed with Scene, People like animals are way too shallow when it comes to initial attraction.
April 17th
Actually, Phoebe, this is not only humanity-- This is all living creatures. In the wild, you think animals ever think, "Hey she's got a nice personality!"? No, they are attracted by physical appearance. It's just how nature works.
April 17th
DITTO WITH NAUREEN! LKF...
April 17th
I have to thank Tristaph for putting that comment there. You really made me think, and I totally agree. Guys like skinny girls because they like girls who maintain their figure. Some like em' curvy which is good for them. But honestly I'd date a fat nice guy then a buff jerk. Girls say like them "big and long" I dont interest in that. Im not that shallow. Beauty is skin deep. Lesson to be learned, dont judge people by their appearances.
April 17th
Men can be equally shallow as us dudettes can be when we look at a guy. But I'm glad you made this strip, just this week I went to a party with my mates and somebody shouted something at me from there about uh........"big knockers", -_- You gotta love Humanity
April 17th
its sad when a boy is checking you out, the first place he looks is the breasts.
April 16th
What I was trying to say earlier is, although men think big breasts are attractive, I would think (at least from my experience and my teenage years talking about celebs with friends ) they are more opt to judge a woman's looks based on facial features before anything else. Honestly, and excuse my bluntness, I'm just trying to make a point - even to the most shallowest people in the world, I don't think your breast size means anything if your face looks like a truck ran over it.
April 16th
Yeah, I think not very much. Think Pamela Anderson. Here's the deal with rules of attraction. Men are visual, women want to feel wanted, and in order to accomplish this, they appeal to a men's visual by wearing clothes that reveal more, make their breasts look larger, put on makeup, and wear clothes that appear to give them a better shape. So I'm sorry, but I'm soooo very tired of seeing things like your above strip, putting the men, and men only at blame. The problem is and always was BOTH sexes, and human nature is not very easily changed.
April 16th
Making a strip with nudity in it doesn't help get your point across. Although I'm aware there are tons of shallow guys, the reality is men are visual. Lots and lots of guys like big breasts. Even the least shallow of guys, may not admit to it, but that's just how their brains are built. There is nothing perverted about that, it's just how things are. Seriously, just ask any guy why they prefer larger breasts. They don't know. We really don't know where this comes from. this appeals to us more. The amount of guys who will say, "Wow, that girl is beautiful only because she has huge tits"? >>>

Apparently dressing imodestly and Sexual is the LATEST thing. Makes me wanna punch something, it's so stupid!
April 16th
On thing i DON'T get, is, why DO boys like boobs ? Like, they're just like round, flubber kinda.... What makes them soo attractive.

*remain alive and well.
April 16th
The very thought that a woman is a human being, equipped with a capable mind and emotions to match, is a foreign idea to him, for him to scoff. Thus, with the new millenium's developments, women's rights have been pushed back a century. It will never end. If there are still men in power deciding what a woman can do with her body, if there is still a rape culture, if there is still domestic abuse, if there is still even a hint of discriminatory practices in the workplace, mass sexism will never remain alive and well.
April 16th
It's not just the big tits, it's all about being thin, with impossible proportions. Short hair is unacceptable. Pale is unacceptable. Eating is unacceptable. Rightful anger is unacceptable-- feminism is unacceptable. The man gotten so lost in his quest for internet porn that his views are warped, emotions stagnant, and his standards for beauty impossible. A female body that appears before him is automatically his property to judge and discard, if it does not fit to his composite porn princess dream girl. >>
April 16th
Oh God.
April 16th
Noooo its worse than that sweetie :))))) @zombieman19
April 16th
lolz Rhett. And Lolz Naureen. You're beautful!
April 16th
I think Naureen just said Laura has big tits. YOU DIRTY GIRL!
April 16th
You see, big tits is sexy, but beauty comes from a deeper place. Beauty comes from the eyes, the face, the spirit. Many guys place sexy over beauty however, and the two merge together in their perverse brains.
April 16th
One question(if you are dirty minded you'll get it), did you need a mirror to make this?
April 16th
Me being a guy, I hate guys who do this. And when I hear people doing this literally punch them in the face. I actually punched a guy in the face for this once. Literally.
April 16th
SO YOUR SAYING IM NOT BEAUTIFUL?!? HOW COULD YOU!?! (runs away dramatically) BWAAAAAH
April 16th
I 100%'ly agree with this.
April 16th
Society disgusts me.
